Housing Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Housing Manager, the Housing Officer will assist with on-reserve housing administration and operations. Working under the supervision of the Housing Manager, the Housing Officer will perform administrative and clerical duties, support housing programs, and ensure effective housing operations within the community. This position offers opportunities for training and further education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the administration of on-reserve housing programs and operations.
  • Perform office administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and record-keeping.
  • Provide clerical support such as drafting correspondence, scheduling, and responding to inquiries.
  • Agenda and meeting preparation for the ‘Namgis Housing Committee.
  • Maintain accurate housing records and assist with tenancy agreements and housing applications.
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors, and community members regarding housing-related matters.
  • Support housing maintenance coordination and ensure timely communication of repairs.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documents for the Housing Manager and leadership.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies, procedures, and housing regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent). A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Valid Drivers Licence.
  • Experience in office administration, clerical duties, and filing is an asset.
  • Knowledge of on-reserve housing programs is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer use.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in training and educational opportunities.

Employment Type: Full-Time (35 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM)
