Lands Clerk

Job Summary: Reporting to the Land Code Manager, the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to the ‘Namgis Land Code office (Lands Management, Public Works, Housing & Capital).

Job Duties:
• Provide administrative duties including typing, filing, forms management & creation
• Register documents in the ‘Namgis Lands Registry
• Coordinate team scheduling and tasks as required to meet operational needs
• Maintain electronic and paper filing systems
• Work with members and third parties on provision of registry documentation procedures
• Provide administrative support to the Lands Management Advisory Committee & Housing Committee (minute-taking, meeting venue & catering bookings, meeting preparation, etc)
• Provide input into the annual work plan and reporting for the Lands Department
• Attend relevant training programs as required
• Other related duties as may be required from time to time

Job Qualifications:
• Post-secondary diploma or certificate program in land/resources management, community planning or business administration preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum Grade 12
• Demonstrated communication skills, verbal and written
• Computer skills in Microsoft applications, working knowledge of database software including GIS would be an asset

Other required conditions of employment: satisfactory criminal record check, Class 5 drivers license (preferred) and the ability to work overtime and/or travel from time to time.
