Bus Driver

We are accepting applications for the full-time position of on call/casual Bus Driver at the T̓łisa̱lagi’lakw School.

REPORTING TO: T̓łisa̱lagi’lakw School Principal

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive students to and from school as required.
  • Alert students to basic safety rules and riding privileges.
  • Assist in supervising students while boarding or disembarking bus.
  • Inspect the bus daily to ensure cleanliness, safety, and good working conditions.
  • Assist in care of sick or injured students.
  • Maintains student list, driver’s log sheet, field trip log sheet, and incident forms.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions and student incident reports to Principal.
  • Become familiar with school policies and procedures, including the HR policy.
  • Participate in professional development and/or training opportunities as necessary or required.
  • Performs other duties necessarily incidental to those assigned above.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Level 1 First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Class II B.C. Driver’s License (with air brake endorsement)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions
  • Must be physically fit and pass a medical examination
  • Satisfactory driving record
  • Satisfactory criminal record check & vulnerable sector search through the Criminal Record Review Program

WAGE:

  • $24.69 – $28.72
