Administrative Assistant – K’wak’walatsi Child and Family Services (KCFS)

Reports to: K’wak’walast’si Child and Family Services Team Lead


About the Role

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide clerical support for the K’wakwalat’si Child and Family Services C3 Delegated Aboriginal Agency team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain all Service Request, Family Service and Resource files for KCFS.
  • Maintenance of administrative and client files on the Ministry computer database system. 
  • Prepare documents for transfer in and out.
  • Meet with the delegation team biweekly.
  • Organize and assist with KCFS events, activities and programs.
  • Provide administrative support in the areas of general paperwork, purchase orders, extended family plan benefits, etc.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent preferably.
  • Completed certificate or diploma in office management/administrative support as asset.
  • Additional Requirements
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
  • Clean criminal record check pertaining to work with children and vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Experience

  • Two years of experience with client records, an asset.
  • Experience with computer programs, i.e. database, Excel, the internet, keyboarding, word processing, and other computer standards.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment and adapt to change
  • Ability and desire to collaborate with other members of the team (and externally) to ensure accountability.
  • Ability to plan and organize complex details such as catering, honoraria, and travel.
  • Reliable and hardworking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary:

  • Compensation is based on the ‘Na̱mg̱is Salary Grid $50,656-$59,099.
  • Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning and midpoint of the range.
  • Pursuant to Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code, preference may be given to qualified applicants of Aboriginal ancestry.
