Victim Services Worker
Department: ‘Na̱mg̱is Community Services
Classification: Full Time, Term – 12 months
Reports to: Director of ‘Na̱mg̱is Community Services
‘Na̱mg̱is Community Services is accepting applications for a full-time (35 hrs/week) term position for Victim Services to provide support and information to victims and their families as they proceed through the legal process, to ensure the victims’ rights are protected and respected in the justice system, and to work towards improving the health and well being of the community by coordinating and delivering preventative programs.
REPORTS TO: Director of ‘Na̱mg̱is Community Services
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of the court process and justice system
- Good communication skills which include public speaking and the ability to motivate and encourage
- Grade 12
- Two-year diploma in Human Services an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
Employment Requirements:
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
Salary:
- Compensation is based on the ‘Na̱mg̱is Salary Grid $44,932 to $53,369.
- Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning and midpoint of the range.
- Pursuant to Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code, preference may be given to qualified applicants of Aboriginal ancestry.
