Overview:
The gravel road rehabilitation project in Alert Bay is set to begin Tuesday, June 24th, 2025. This work is being carried out by ADT Property Solutions and includes resurfacing, grading, crowning, brush clearing, and drainage improvements on several local roads.
Updates will be posted here as the project progresses.
Latest Updates:
June 23, 2025 – Change in Starting Location
Due to a scheduling conflict, work will now begin on Atli Street rather than Hill/Ugwamalis Road. The contractor will proceed to other roads listed on the project map after Atli Street is completed.
June 23, 2025 – Evening Gravel Movement Notice
In preparation for the work, gravel and equipment will be moved tonight (June 23) at 10:00 p.m. from the marine loading area to the Big House parking lot. This move must take place during this time due to the tides.
We understand that this late timing may be disruptive, particularly for those living along Front Street and Park Street. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Safety Reminder:
Please use caution when travelling through work zones. Give workers and equipment plenty of space and follow any posted signage or instructions from on-site personnel.
