Night Attendant – ‘Na̱mg̱is Wellness Centre
This is a part-time position (30 hours per week) reporting to the ‘Na̱mg̱is Treatment Centre Manager. The Night Attendant ensures the Centre is secure after regular hours and monitors the after-hours activities of clients to maintain safety for all. Rotating shift hours are from 5:00 pm to 12:30 am and 12:30 am to 8:00 am (4 days on, 2 days off), including weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all clients are in before curfew
- Ensure TVs and lights are off and clients are settled according to House Guidelines
- Respond to minor disturbances and contact on-call staff for major incidents
- Record all activities/incidents that are contrary to House Guidelines
- Conduct hourly checks throughout the building to ensure client safety
- Ensure all doors and windows are locked at curfew
- Respond to clients under the influence or in possession of drugs/alcohol and report as required
- Ensure adherence to House rules
- Be accessible and available to clients experiencing sleep or other disturbances
- Perform minor kitchen duties as needed
- Other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Night Attendant, preferably in a First Nations environment
- Support for and commitment to a healthy, alcohol- and drug-free lifestyle
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search
- Valid BC Driver’s License; First Aid is an asset
Salary: $33,051 – $38,147
