Receptionist/Office Assistant

Early Childhood Development / NVI AIDP

About the Role

We are seeking a part-time (17.5hours/week) Receptionist/Office Assistant to provide clerical support for the Early Childhood Development Programs and for NVI AIDP. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming calls and messages
  • Respond to general inquiries
  • General paperwork, photocopying, and filing
  • Check business email and sort
  • Order janitorial and office supplies
  • Arrange for service and maintenance of office equipment
  • Arrange staff meetings with the direction of the ECD Manager
  • Maintain staff in/out board
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent preferably.
  • Completed certificate or diploma in office management/administrative support as asset.
  • Additional Requirements
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
  • Clean criminal record check pertaining to work with children and vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Experience

  • Two years of experience with client records, an asset.
  • Experience with computer programs, i.e. database, Excel, the internet, keyboarding, word processing, and other computer standards.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment and adapt to change
  • Ability and desire to collaborate with other members of the team (and externally) to ensure accountability.
  • Ability to plan and organize complex details such as catering, honoraria, and travel.
  • Reliable and hardworking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary

Compensation is based on the ‘Na̱mg̱is Salary Grid $22.87/hour-$26.54/hour
