Early Child Development Coordinator

’Na̱mg̱is First Nation is seeking an Early Child Development (ECD) Coordinator to work with families both on and off reserve who have children from birth to 12 years of age. Reporting to the Early Child Development Manager, this role supports family engagement, program coordination, and community outreach to promote healthy child and family development across the Mount Waddington Regional District.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the engagement of families in Early Child Development programs, including Amlilas Head Start/Childcare, Aboriginal Infant Development, parenting supports and training groups, Well Babies, Supported Child Development, and After School programs
  • Inform families about ’Na̱mg̱is First Nation services through newsletters, bulletin boards, social media, advertising, and direct outreach
  • Positively represent ’Na̱mg̱is First Nation to members and the broader community
  • Network with agencies and stakeholders to support and enhance program delivery and positive outcomes for families
  • Build and maintain relationships with Elders and Knowledge Keepers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Degree in Youth & Child Care or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (asset)
  • Knowledge of child development and/or Early Child Development education
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
  • First Aid and Food Safe certification (training may be provided)
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience working with children of various age groups in different settings
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional interpersonal skills

Salary

$52,160 – $60,912 annually
