Early Childhood Development Coordinator
Position Summary: Reporting to the Early Child Development Manager, the ECD Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will work with families both on and off reserve with children birth – 12 years of age in the Mount Waddington Regional District.
Specific Job Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the engagement of families with children with Early Child Development Programs such as: Amlilas Head Start /child care, Aboriginal Infant Development, Parenting support / training groups, Well Babies, Supported Child Development or After School programs.
- Inform families about ‘Namgis First Nation services through advertising in programs, bulletin boards, newsletters, social media and directly to support the healthy development of children and families.
- Positively represent ‘Namgis First Nation to members and the outside world in all activities.
- Network with agencies and stakeholders to support and enhance program, service delivery and positive outcomes for families.
- Build relationships with Elders and Knowledge Keepers in the community.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Education / Qualifications / Experience:
- Degree in Youth & Childcare, Diploma in Early Childhood Education will be an asset.
- Knowledge of child development and/or Early Child Development Education
- Familiarity with computer systems i.e. Microsoft Office
- First Aid and Food Safe Certificates – training on site.
- 2 years experience working with children of various age groups in various settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and individually.
- Demonstrated communication skills both written and oral.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a professional manner both with colleagues and other professionals.
Annual Salary: $ 51,087 – $59,660
