Introducing the ‘Namgis App
Stay Connected, Wherever You Are
On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, we were thrilled to introduce the ‘Namgis App to our community. A huge thank you to our friends at Hawk Solutions for helping us bring this project to life.
The app is designed to function like our website and social media platforms, acting as a central hub for the latest news, events, alerts, and more—all in one mobile-friendly place.
One helpful feature is the Alerts section, where both staff and community members can share quick, important updates such as ferry delays, wildlife sightings, water shutoffs, or road conditions. It’s a great way to stay informed in real time. We ask that everyone post responsibly—please avoid exact wildlife locations, and leave emergency alerts to our Emergency Preparedness Team. If you’re unsure how to post an alert, check out the PDF for a simple step-by-step guide and reminders.

I’m Jean, and I’ve been your Communications Manager since April 2025. It’s been a pleasure to take over the app’s release from Samantha Webster, our Land Code Manager, who helped start this process. My goal is to make communication more accessible, especially for members not on Facebook or living away from the community. This app is just one more tool to keep you connected—and it’s only the beginning.
How to Get the App:
- Search “Hawk Communications” in the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
- Open the app and tap Request Account.
- Fill in the required info:
- Province: BC
- Type: Nation
- Nation: ‘Namgis
- Once approved, you’ll receive an activation email with a link to set your password and log in.

As Communications Manager, I’ll be approving account requests — so please include your membership number to help speed things up.
When setting up your account, make sure to tag your role (e.g., on-reserve, off-reserve, staff, Elders, post-secondary student, secondary student, youth, T̓lisalagi’lakw School parent/guardian).
More content will be shared on the app in the coming weeks. I’ll also be sending out a Communications Survey later this month to ask how you prefer to stay connected (mail, text, app, social media, etc.).
As your Communications Manager, I’m also the main (and sometimes only) person updating the website, app, social media, and newsletter — so thank you for your patience. I’m working toward giving departments access to post on the app themselves, and some already post to the Facebook Page.
Thanks again for your support as I settle into this role. If you have feedback or ideas, I’d love to hear from you.
Gilakas’la,
Jean Bell
