Team Leader – K’wak’walatsi Child and Family Services

Reports to: K’wak’walatsi Program Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Team Leader to oversee a team of delegated non-protection C3 Social Workers. This leadership role provides mentorship, clinical supervision, and case consultation while ensuring culturally rooted systems of care for Indigenous children, youth, and families. The Team Leader will champion service excellence, uphold legislative standards, and foster a collaborative, respectful work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Supervision: Provide clinical guidance, oversee daily operations, and support professional development.
- Human Resources: Manage team schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and assist with recruitment and onboarding.
- Program Management: Develop goals, monitor standards, and recommend improvements to programs and policies.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to CFCSA, Family Law Act, Adoption Act, AOPSI Standards, and agency directives.
- Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with Indigenous communities, caregivers, and partners; represent KCFS at events and meetings.
- Administration: Prepare reports, review care plans, and maintain accurate documentation.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Child & Youth Care (or related field).
- C3 Delegation or eligibility.
- Minimum five years delegated experience and two years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Indigenous history, trauma-informed practice, and child welfare legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Requirements
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
- Clear criminal record check.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Salary:
- Compensation is based on the ‘Namgis Salary Grid $85,053 – $100,154
- Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning and midpoint of the range.
- Pursuant to Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code, preference may be given to qualified applicants of Aboriginal ancestry.
